New Gen Maschine & Komplete Kontrol
Scrolling through my insta and happened to see a vid of 9th Wonder playing with a MKIII, figured it was all a dream until I actually woke up and pree’d the Native Instruments YouTube channel. My reaction is wowwwwwww!!! Like what did I just witness?
The capabilities are next level now. The bigger, brighter LED display, the strip to modulate and play with pitch too! You can even mix down on the screens! All major updates for me considering I have had my MKI since 2010, I’ve stayed loyal and NI have continued to ensure my MKI is supported. With the inclusion of the audio interface on the back, I may start to reconsider an upgrade. I’d be a fool not to at some point, however I wonder whether the Maschine has the same intergration with LPX as the Komplete Kontrol.
I’m coming fresh from buying and returning a Behringer X-Touch Mini which failed to live up to the grand expectations set by their YouTube channel; it didn’t just ‘plug and play’ nor did it allow me to download and update the mythical Driver and midi editor application for OSX which I couldn’t find. I am beyond sold for both these new NI Upgrades but I already have an iRig Pro keyboard controller that is under used, which can power the iPad, so I may just stick to the Maschine MKIII. I do hope that it can integrate with LPX in the same way you can use the touch sensitive display knobs on the Komplete Kontrol. £479 sounds like a reasonable investment so I better get saving!
