RD20: Hats Off To Hov
The God Mc has enticed me into a TIDAL subscription. It was all well and good when others I didn’t really follow dropped TIDAL exclusives, it was all good when I googled the All The Way Up verse or heard The Drug Dealers Anonymous verse on SoundCloud but a celebration of Reasonable Doubt, my favourite album, I have decided decided to take a leap of faith and support the cause.
Hats off to Hov.
Subscribing to TIDAL in 3, 2, 1…
I was only just beginning to enjoy my free Apple Music subscription and TIDAL’s wave of enticement got louder and louder until it crashed into my email with a Jay Z exclusive documentary. I could be ratchet and check for the bootleg stream but I respect the intention too highly, this is Jay Z the God MC, the person who’ve I’ve studied from unreleased to retirement and feature, business moves to marriage, fatherhood, global influencer moduldom. I can’t front on the God, I’ve got to get involved as I feel like the perks of being a member are great eg. streamed concerts and events, exclusive interviews, tickets and more than anything else access to one of my favourite artists who may or may not drop another album and if he does it will probably be available to stream on TIDAL but purchase all else.
Subscribing to follow one artist is kinda odd but not it feels like I’ll be an alumni that continues to donate to the school or institution they graduated from but hey, it’s worth it as TIDAL are really pushing the culture into a new direction.
