Adidas Racer Lite
Did anyone other than one person I know get to purchase a pair of the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350s Pirate Black or was it all a myth?
Even some of the most passionate and seasoned sneaker heads I know were unsuccessful. Yes I got through to the size picking phase, apparently so, but I wasn’t in the room to buy a pair. Am I salty? Kinda but then I weren’t too bothered because it is what it is. I first set out for a pair of the Black NMDs but every shop I went to were sold out, all workers had the same look on their faces which read…
This guy is sooo late, we sold out of those the same day.
When I’m scanning the shelves for what Adidas have to offer I can’t help but be stunned by the price points Adidas retail for nowadays. I understand that a lot of research and development goes into their footwear such as the Boosts but £130 for a pair of Adidas is something I can’t quite fathom. Of course I met a lady who was a product developer for Adidas’ boost range by chance so I thought I’d check them out. The funny thing is that after meeting Frankie I began to see the Boosts and Nomad ranges more and more, mostly on Instagram pages then came Yeezy releasing the Facts song. Alas I digress, what I’m trying to say is that I’m unsure whether some of the prices are a reflection of their elaborate pr strategy to place their garms in the right places for maximum exposure or are they actually that good?
Yes yes yes! They’re good!
A few days before the Yeezy Pirate Black release and after my failed trip into town to get a pair of Nomads, I somehow managed to bag myself a pair a pair of Adidas Racer Lites from Office for £28.00. They’re light, as if I were wearing a pair of comfy slippers -comparable to a pair of featherlight Superstars, and they also look rather awesome. I was never a fan of the ZX Flux but I feel as though the Racer Lites slipped beneath the radar. They’re pretty snug and took a few hours to get used to but I haven’t attempted to wear another pair since purchasing them because they’re light and you can feel the air on your feet. I popped to Tesco’s late yesterday evening to fetch a 5L bottle of water and a pack of Monkey Nuts, didn’t really feel like coming totally out of ‘House Mode’ so I slipped them on with no socks. Words can’t describe how marvellous and liberating it felt to wear these with no socks. There was breeze, it was comforting, I felt as though I was walking on air.
I could definitely get used to this feeling of no socks in the Racer Lites.
I’m pretty chuffed with my purchase. As much as I was kinda salty about not being able to purchase the Nomads or even the Yeezy rerelease I feel like the Racer Lites were meant to be. Maybe fate worked in a way that I saved myself nearly 4 times the amount I would of spent had I spent that on the Yeezys which I probably wouldn’t of worn or felt a way about getting dirty. The Racer Lite is a comfortable shoe that I want to wear all the time. I got them in a grey and white colour way that pretty much allows me to wear them with most things.
I rate this purchase a 10/10 simply due to the bargain and the unexpected find. Would recommend these to all.
